There is a significant difference between desktop automatic screw fastening machines and manual screwdrivers. Let us first broadly understand the types of screwdriving equipment: screwdriving machines are categorised as automatic screwdriving equipment, automatic screw feeders, handheld automatic screwdriving equipment, desktop automatic screwdriving machines, robotic coordinate-based automatic screwdriving machines, multi-axis automatic screwdriving equipment, screw feeders, screw fastening units, and fully automatic screwdriving machines.

The primary advantage of desktop automatic screw fastening machines lies in their flexibility, full automation, and high efficiency. The machine automatically completes product fastening according to pre-set coordinates. The Z-axis can accommodate up to four electric screwdrivers for simultaneous fastening, significantly boosting production efficiency. Changing products requires only modifying the fastening point coordinates. Operation is remarkably straightforward. In today's era of rapid product iteration, this approach substantially reduces fixed asset investment. The feeding system employs a turbine-driven direct vibration mechanism to sort screws onto a vibrating guide rail before conveying them to the screw distribution system. Screws are then allocated by this system and delivered to the screwdriver nozzle via pneumatic pressure. A robotic arm automatically completes the fastening process according to pre-set coordinates.

Handheld automatic screwdrivers are semi-automatic, primarily relying on manual positioning for fastening. In recent years, single-process desktop automatic screwdrivers have emerged, representing a promising development in automated fastening. Compact, simple, and modularly designed for full automation, they aim to replace manual screw tightening with mechanical operation. Modular desktop automatic screwdrivers have largely resolved the challenges of manual screwdriving, gaining significant market acceptance.

The operation of desktop automatic screw fastening machines is relatively straightforward. Essentially, the operator places the product, and the equipment automatically performs screw feeding, tightening, and inspection processes. The procedure typically involves the following four steps:

1. Verify air and power supply connections; activate the power switch and air valve.

2. Inspect the drive travel of all components. Coordinate-based systems additionally require pre-programming control settings for fastening paths tailored to different products.

3. Position the product requiring screw fastening. Perform a step-by-step jog or incremental test to verify the accuracy of all operations and the correctness of travel paths.

4. Conduct a trial run with the machine activated. Inspect the finished product for quality and effectiveness. Only proceed with production once stable operation is confirmed.
